TUESDAY, MARCH 10, 2009 - 61/83 - AT SEA

TUESDAY, MARCH 10, 2009 - AT SEA

We awake to another too cool, overcast day on the Yellow Sea. Yes, Virginia, the Yellow Sea does have a yellow cast to the water in many places. We figure the color is from all the silt that flows into it from China and from the fact that it is so shallow.

We hear a talk on Shanghai by a representative of the Chinese Tourist Agency. He speaks excellent English and has a great sense of humor; poking fun at China, most of the other countries represented in the room, the Chinese government, government officials and life in general. In the afternoon, we attend a less enthralling lecture entitles, “Communist China – Communist No More.”
