After another high priced breakfast, we work on the blog and get one day posted and others almost ready to go. We leave the hotel at 11:45AM to head to the airport. During the drive, the woman in Australia, who owns the villa in Italy, where we will be staying, calls to check on our arrival time at CasaLena.
This is our 21st flight of the trip and it, like all the others, is on time. We are flying Lufthansa for the first time and the service is good and the plane in spotless. We arrive in Frankfurt on time but it seems to take forever to gather our checked bag and get the rent car. Hertz does not have the car we reserved but they upgrade us to a new Ford station wagon with a manual transmission.
Around 05:00PM, we are on our way south and plan to stop in Heidelberg for the night. The drive is uneventful and the GPS is working fine. It directs us to the Marriott Hotel in Heidelberg and we luck out and get a room without reservations. We enjoy our balcony overlooking the Neckar River and the lingering sunset.
We have a light supper in the hotel dining room, post this blog and plan our day for tomorrow.
